Home Gear Throb™

THROB™.  Based on the Electro-Harmonix Pulsar, this tremolo has two speed and one intensity knob for superior wobble control.  Super quiet, and known as a pedal "designed for sick and twisted musicians" by Guitar World Magazine.

"Prescription's Throb pedal was definitely designed for sick and twisted musicians (like us).  Based on the design of Electro-Harmonix rare and desirable Seventies-era Pulsar pedal, the Throb features a few welcome upgrades...  The Throb's tremolo effects are not for the faint of heart...  The trem mode produces a fat, pumping oscillation that cuts dramatically through dense mixes, and the chop mode churns out a bassy, walloping wobble that's perfect for duplicating the sound of helicopters... - Guitar World Magazine
"It sounds like nothing else. Full, rich, warm, mesmerizing. When I play upper register chords it sounds like a B3 with a Leslie, no less! When I need a bass line to float rather than state itself - My right foot knows exactly where it to find it. Its sustain is so long I feel I don't need to play a bunch of notes in order to be present.  To all bass players: buy it! Particularly if you like seeing the audience try to figure out where that incredible sound is coming from (it takes them anywhere between 20 seconds to 5 gigs to spot it..)" - basshobo (Harmony Central)
"I really like the sound of this pedal. Most pedals I've owned had a sweet spot where if you bump the settings, it doen't sound good. This pedal is one GIANT sweet spot! It is not as vibey as the more Fenderish Demeter, though it does have a pronounced Blackface quality. It is dead silent and has true bypass (a real plus in trems, where pulsing is a problem). - Mark Garver (Harmony Central)
